How do I access library resources from off-campus?

  • Search for articles, databases, and other library related resources from the library homepage to make sure that you're able to access full-text articles and online videos when available.
    • When searching for library materials in the catalog, be sure to Sign In with your NetID and password to gain access.Image highlighting the request to sign in with NetID and password in the library catalog

  • Many library databases and resources have their access restricted to students, faculty, and staff of SUNY Brockport. These are premium, librarian curated resources that are not freely available on the internet.
  • To ensure that you will be able to access library databases and articles, it is recommended that you do not search for materials via Google.
    • Links found in Google and other search engines do not contain a unique proxy link prefix that will verify that you are a student, faculty, or staff member of SUNY Brockport.
  • Google Scholar is different than Google and will allow you to search for articles that you can access through the Drake Memorial Library. You will first need to setup a Google Scholar profile to use this service.
  • If you have a direct link to an article or resource that is not working from off-campus, try adding the unique proxy prefix to the start of the link:
