How do I request a book chapter scan?

You can request a book chapter scan through the Library Search on the Drake Library homepage. While the Library was able to provide book chapter scans for Drake-owned items to Undergraduate Students during the COVID-19 pandemic, we are no longer able to offer this service.

Book chapter scan requests are limited by the following:

Undergraduate Students One Chapter Only Only for items not owned by Drake Library
100% Online Students, Graduate Students, Faculty, & Staff One Chapter Only For items owned and not owned by Drake Library

To Request a Book Chapter Scan:

  1. Use the library search to find the book you want a chapter from and click on the title.
    • Search for 'steamboats' in Library Search
  2. Log in with your Brockport NetID and password if you have not done so already.
    • 'Sign in to get complete results and to request items' link location in library search
  3. Click on the 'Book Chapter Scanning Request (ILL)' link.

  4. Fill out the request form with the details on the chapter you need and any other additional information.
    • ILLiad Interlibrary Loan Book Chapter Scan Request Form
  5. Library Staff will review and process your request.
  6. Check your Brockport email for updates and PDF scans of the requested chapter.
